For last week's prize we offered you the superb 'Building the Frick Collection' by Colin. B Bailey, chief curator of the Frick Collection. This beautifully illustrated book is essential reading about one of America's finest houses and collections, and offers a fascinating insight to the history of collecting in 20th-century New York.
We asked you: Which architect designed the building that houses the Frick Collection?
Answer: Thomas Hastings
Congratulations to David Halpin who is the winner this week, drawn at random from the correct entries.
Our competition prize this week is the splendid hardback 'The Fran and Ray Stark Collection of 20th-Century Sculpture at the J. Paul Getty Museum'. This beautiful book introduces the collection (now on display in the Getty's sculpture garden) including works by Calder, Giacometti, Magritte, Moore and Noguchi and examines them in relation to American and European garden design.
For your chance to win, simply answer the following question:
How many works from the original Stark Collection are on display at the Getty Museum?
Email your answers to offers@apollomag.com using 'Getty' as the subject of your email.
Good luck!
