2008 Highlights

January

Modern British Art: Matthew Collings on great British art of the 60’s, the market for collecting Modern
British. Old masters in New York the Palm Beach Art Fair.

February

Antiquities. Apollo looks at two great public collections; the Munich Glyptothek and the Antikensammlung in Berlin. We will include an interview with a major collector of antiquities. This edition will come complete with a special supplement to mark the opening of the Doha Museum.

March

Maastricht Preview. Apollo will be participating in TEFAF as an official sponsor for the first time in 2008. This special edition will include interviews with some of the key personalities of the fair and will feature articles covering the latest discoveries in all the areas covered by TEFAF

April

LA County Museum of Art. This year the most significant event in American museums is the opening of the first stage in the redevelopment of the Los Angeles Museum of Art. The National Trust supplement accompanies this issue in the UK.

May

Chinese Art. Guest edited by Dame Jessica Rawson, this special issue will focus on Chinese art from antiquity to contemporary. It will include interviews with collectors of both ancient and contemporary Chinese art.

June

Chatsworth. The new Duke of Devonshire is revolutionizing the displays at Chatsworth by integrating into them a substantial part of his collection of 20th-century and contemporary art. This issue will focus on him as a collector and the redisplay of works of art in the most-visited house in the UK.

July & August

Collecting today. In a special double issue Apollo launches a new annual survey of international collecting, including interviews with collectors in key areas of the market worldwide and our seletion of the world’s top 50 private collections. This will cover all areas, including anitquities, Old Masters and contemporary art.

September

Paris Biennale. French and Irish Art special Issue & Preview of the important Paris Biennale
